FAQ

What is the Six Rivers Rafting whitewater river experience and how is it different?

Here at Six Rivers Rafting we are ALL about providing you the very best VIP whitewater river experience possible.  We cater to you from the moment you arrive at our office.  We provide you with top notch safety equipment, including high float life vests, comfortable helmets, refillable water bottles, and, if needed, wetsuits, splash jackets, and neoprene socks or booties at no extra charge. Six Rivers Rafting’s river trips are the longest, both in time and mileage on the Trinity River.  We provide ample opportunities to stop and play along the journey, including a couple thrilling cliff jumping opportunities, as well as serene swimming and floating options all day long.  Our guides are masters of their craft, focused on keeping you safe while maximizing fun, experts at steering rafts, explaining local ecology and natural history, and fully certified with river rescue and advanced first aid training.  We are never in a rush, we value your dollar, and we give the best bang for your buck anywhere.  Have we mentioned the food?  Because what we provide is night and day with our competition.  Our food is organic and locally produced, and there is simply more of it, with more options than you’ll find elsewhere..  All in all, we spend more on you, and more time with you, creating an unforgettable and amazing day of river memories for you and your group.

What is for lunch or snack and why is it the best food on the Trinity River?

We put our money where our mouths are and shop local (as much as possible), organic, and even source from our own (and guides’) garden.  Our lunches are impressive with 3 kinds of meat (turkey, salami, smoked salmon), 2 kinds of cheese (cheddar and pepper jack), 5 kinds of veggies (avocado, heirloom tomatoes, red pepper, red onion, cucumber, greens) and homemade hummus, with the standard condiments, for wraps, made to order with all your favorites.  We include homemade salsa and chips with watermelon slices for an appetizer, and homemade cookies or brownies for dessert.   Our snacks are often called lunch, as they include at least watermelon slices, homemade salsa and hummus with tortilla chips, and a variety of granola bars.  Our meals are great for carnivores, vegetarians, and omnivores alike.  We also cater to vegan, gluten free, and any other dietary needs.  Not only do we provide healthy and tasty food, but we provide plenty of it.

Where is our home base and why is it such a great spot on the Trinity River?

We meet for 90% of our trips at our own private river access on the Upper Trinity in Junction City, CA, where you can park your vehicle on our private property.  Your valuables can be kept in your vehicle, or cool and extra safe in our air conditioned office, where we have excellent merchandise/swag (hats, shirts, hoodies, etc), a flushing toilet, and private changing rooms. After we get your river ready, we immediately walk the short distance across our property to our own private river access where we do our safety talk in the shade, with the stunning Trinity River in the background.  Our launch spot gets us an extra 1.5 miles of scenic river time to ourselves, a section where we frequently see green herons, giant fish, kingfishers, deer, turtles, osprey, eagles, otters, and even bears, and very rarely any other humans, as the other companies launch from the public river accesses downstream of us.

What qualifications do Six Rivers Rafting guides have?

All guides have a river or swiftwater rescue cert, an advanced first aid cert (usually of the wilderness variety), and a cpr cert.  Guides also have completed a guide training/school and have proved proficient on any section of river they are taking clients on.   The experience level of our guide team ranges from well over 20 years to first year rock stars.  Our guides tend to come back and work for us for many years, providing a wealth of experience and stability to our operation..

Why do we have so many awesome reviews?

Simple, we provide the best all around river experience, while catering to each group’s needs, maximizing fun, and keeping you safe!  We often hear that clients have been rafting several times before, but this was the best rafting experience of their lives.  We take pride in doing the best trips and we love what we do, and it shows in our trips.  All our guides genuinely enjoy their jobs and the river life.
