Canyon Creek Waterfall Day Hikes

This classic day hike in the Trinity Alps Wilderness will wind out and up Canyon Creek ending at an epic waterfall. Expect high alpine forests, beautiful granite rock faces, year-round melting snow, crystal clear side creeks, and rugged looking Sawtooth ridges. This is a stunning 8-mile round trip hike. It is not an easy hike, moderate to difficult, so please be prepared, and be in adequate fitness for the journey. You will meet your guide at our office in Junction City first thing in the morning, where we’ll have coffee and tea for you and a waiting shuttle vehicle. Then a quick scenic 15–20-minute drive out the Coffee Creek Road to the trail head. Your guide will lead you up the trail, treat any hot spots or blisters that might occur, tell you about the local ecology, and lead you up this absolute gem of a hike. We’ll provide snacks along the way, and have extra water to refill your canteens as needed. Once back to the trail head your guide will set up an amazing lunch alongside the creek while you fuel up and cool off (yes you can swim in the crystal clear and cool waters of upper Canyon Creek). Exact times vary, based on fitness levels and hiking speeds, but expect to be out there with us for most of the day. You will need hiking shoes/boots or sneakers for this hike, please no sandals or flip flops. Exact departure times vary based on the time of the year, earlier in the summer (7-8am), and a little later start (9am) in the spring and fall.
