White Water Rafting Essentials for First Timers

Group of Friends White Water Rafting

White Water Rafting is one of the most exhilarating outdoor adventures you can take on the river. For first timers, it can be a little nerve-racking, but most white-water rafting adventures help to ease the nerves with all the supplies and experience you’ll need to conquer the river.

It’s also important to know the essentials to bring on your first White-Water Rafting Adventure. Here are some items you should bring!

Sun Protection and Sunglasses

It’s easy to forget these essential items when being out on a sunny day on the river. White water rafting trips on rivers usually last quite a while, so it’s important to have sunglasses to wear during your trek, but remember, make sure your sunglasses are either secure on your head, or they’re cheap ones in case you lose them.

Sun protection is a must. Those sunny and hot days can do damage to your skin, so make sure you’re arriving prepared to fight off the UV rays with some sunscreen!

A Good Water Bottle

Warm weather and outdoor adventures make everyone thirsty, so remember to bring a durable water bottle with plenty of water on your white-water rafting trip. At Six Rivers Rafting, we provide home-made meals and drinks during your rafting excursion, but it’s crucial you bring more water.

Proper Footwear

Flipflops or sandals are a no-no when it comes to rafting trips. We recommend wearing old sneakers with rubber bottoms, river sandals, or water shoes when joining us on a white-water rafting trip on the river. Make sure you don’t bring expensive sneakers either. They will get ruined!

Most Importantly, Bring a Positive Attitude!

If it’s your first time going white-water rafting, we understand that you may be a little nervous. It can be a little scary, especially if you have never experienced a white-water rafting adventure, but once you’re out there on the river, you’ll have the time of your life.

Bring a positive attitude and be open to the new adventure. Of course, you will have an adrenaline rush when you get out there. At Six Rivers Rafting, our rafting guides are professionals with expert training and navigation skills to make sure your rafting experience is one for the books.
